I wonder if one day we will all be able to learn together

I hear discouraging screams from the mob

I see police on the streets

I want an equal opportunity

I am a student of color

I pretend that everything is okay

I feel deprived of human rights

I need a quality education

I worry that things will never change

I cry every night

I am a student of color

I understand that it will not be easy

I believe we will have to work together

I dream for a better life

I try to ignore the insults

I hope one day it will be different
